What to look for in an Electrician

Are you licensed and insured?

The most important thing to consider before hiring an electrician is to know if they are licensed and insured. By completing these necessary courses to become licensed, you can rest assured that the electrician will perform the work safely and correctly. All the electricians at Price Electric are licensed and insured.

Please make sure you hire an electrician who is insured. If they do not have insurance, you may be responsible for damage that could potentially be caused, including fire or other accidents. You can ask your electrician to see copies of insurance policies and ensure they are current. You should also check that the policy covers the work being done. Price Electric requires our electricians to complete extensive training to ensure they provide the customer or contractor with top-notch service.

You should be able to ask an electrician about their certifications. They probably need the proper credentials if they still need to provide the requested credentials.

Can you recommend your work?

A great electrician can always give you references if you’d like. Any hesitation may be considered a bad sign. You can call the references to make sure they did the referral and get feedback from someone who has experienced service by this electrician firsthand.

Reputable electricians will be happy to provide client names and previous projects. Price Electric takes great pride in our quality of work, and we are always willing to give references when you’d like.

Can you provide a quote?

Price Electric is always happy to supply a free project quote, regardless of size or scope. We believe our work is the best in the region. We are very confident our pricing is fair and comparable to the other electricians in the Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa areas.

Do you follow safety standards?

Safety performance is a main gauge of organizational quality. Proper training and equipment must be in place to make your job sites as safe as possible for employees, customers, and the public. We believe employees are responsible for following safe work practices, that a company policy should be available to all employees, and that the proper safety standards start with management and are enforced. Many accidents could have been prevented if an appropriate plan of safety existed.

Safety is paramount at Price Electric; therefore, Price Electric uses ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process to set goals for our safety program. Our Health, Safety, and Environmental standards comply with all regulatory and legislative requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, and our program is continually evolving to stay current and compliant with all OSHA laws. At Price Electric, our #1 safety goal is zero injuries.

Price Electric is a leader in the electrical industry in the Eastern Iowa area. We service Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Agricultural accounts.
