Light has a great effect on us. It is what sets our body clock. This is why office lighting quality is so important. Office lighting can affect our productivity. “Appropriate office lighting is a workplace necessity. Poor lighting directly affects work performance as it puts strain in workers’ eyes. This can also lead to further problems like headaches and eye illnesses. Apart from the necessity factor, proper lighting also brings aesthetic advantages to your workplace.”

There are many ways to improve your office lighting. These were the various benefits of having proper lighting in your office. Not only will you cut costs on electricity bills, but your workers will become more productive as well. Sometimes people don’t realize that such simple, practical steps can yield enormous financial benefits for their businesses.

  • Install energy saving lighting in your office. This can save you money too!
  • Lighting color is important to consider when choosing lighting to help keep a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Proper lighting is determined by many factors including natural light, overhead lighting and task lighting.
  • Make sure to replace flickering fluorescent lighting as this can be a for trigger epileptic seizures.
  • You can reduce shadows by using overhead light fixtures.
  • Understanding that different tasks require different levels of light is another important item to consider. Computer usage may require minimal lighting while other tasks require more intense lighting.
  • Age can affect the type of light needed. Older people require a much higher type of light to work effectively.

Studies show the quality of light affects people in many different ways. For example, office worker satisfaction and productivity can be positively affected by well-designed illumination.

Building owners and managers have the potential to add value, reduce costs and enhance performance through the application of good lighting. It’s no secret that people are attracted to well-lighted public facilities, commercial shopping districts and parks.

It is common that a commercial building was designed years or decades ago and used for a different type of business then it is now. It’s recommended to talk with an electrical contractor to revamp your lighting to fit your current needs.

“Lighting is critical to wakefulness and productivity in your office or commercial building. It can even influence customer shopping habits. It’s also a health and safety issue though.”

Having good lighting in the workplace is so important to the productivity of the workers and the overall office. I think it is so interesting that the lighting color can keep the office safe and healthy like it was mentioned in this post. It must be awful to sit in a dim workplace all day.

It was really nice when you said that worker satisfaction and productivity can be positively affected by a well-designed illumination in the working area. That’s a pretty good thing to know because my brother is currently trying to figure out ways to enhance his staffs’ performance and happiness. He has tried countless ways to get them motivated, but they still appear to be lethargic at work. I think putting up a good lighting system will help motivate them. It’s worth a try. Thanks!

I really appreciate it when you said that the lighting in the workplace can be determined by the tasks that the employees need to do and that if they are the computer, then minimal lighting is enough. That is good to know since I do work in a shop wherein most people are facing the computer for their work. At first, I thought that bright light is required, now I know that it is not. I will be sure to choose a dimmer light for the replacement in case the old lighting cannot be repaired.

It’s cool that the quality of light actually affects the productivity of a business. I think it also helps keep people safe, especially in warehouse or mines, as a misstep could cause a bad injury. My brother has been thinking about getting some LED work lights, but isn’t sure if they’ll be too bright. What is your opinion on LED lights?

It’s interesting how you said that worker satisfaction and productivity can be increased by good lighting. My boss really should look into hiring a good lighting service to help increase the light of our workplace. That way we can increase productivity in the workplace.
